TÔ Long-Nam Paris - Spring 2010

The designer was born in Vietnam and grew up in Munich. Formally a design assistant for Lanvin Homme. TÔ Long-Nam structured jackets reminiscent of early Yves Saint Laurent are truly a creation of their own. The collection boasts architecturally sound, androgynous jackets that mixed masculine structure with feminine curve. In other words the perfect collection for the woman looking for impeccable tailoring and designs fit for both work and play.

Let's Get Spung

i-D kicking off Spring with three creative covers. Freja Beha Erichsen and Sasha Pivovarova and Natalia Vodianova. When it comes to the i-D signature wink I think Freja's is the best by far, but I'm biased!

Under.Ligne Fall 2010 by Doo.Ri

I opened the white door and walked into the bright white studio.
A black and white rainbow of fabrics lined the racks.

The collection had some sharp-looking cropped jackets, interesting prints, and the most fantastic, off black, silk trench that everyone should have two of in their closet* (one to wear and one to touch).

Under.Ligne takes classic Doo-Ri and makes it affordable all the while keeping the high quality tailoring that Doo-Ri is known for. No sacrifice was made when it came to construction or fabric selection. There was a point where I literally gasped after I pointed to a stunning black dress with leather side panels and asked how much it cost, the price was too good to be true.

I have following Doo-Ri since her CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund award win in 2006 meeting her was dreamlike. She and her staff were very pleasant and more than helpful, answering just about every question immaginable. Listening to her passionate description of the clothes would turn any skeptic into a believer.

Absence of Space

As semester end draws nearer I will be forced to begin the dreaded search for an apartment. The more I thought about it the more I worried. Being from a small farm community in Western New York I've always had abundant space and we all know that space in New York equals Money, what will I ever do without it? Then I realized... what if I sacrificed space for something better? Perhaps a small escape from the world with decor that makes you just melt away.

Then I stumbled across this fantastic Brooklyn apartment,
thanks to the lovely Cerré

I'm stuck here at Home, on break, with no computer (which means my homework wont be getting finished) and not a whole lot to do.

Promise some posts when I return to New York!

Vagabond

Since moving to New York this photo sums up how my feet feel on a daily basis, worn out. All the walking is draining, but I still enjoy it so much. There is so much to see and so many people to watch. You can't help but find yourself enjoying the walk despite complete exhaustion.
